Champion Beer of Nottinghamshire Competition & Festival!

Hi all,

We thought we would give you a quick post about the Champion Beer of Nottinghamshire competition & festival, which started today (7th Feb 2013) at the Canalhouse Bar in Nottingham.

36 beers from this great brewing county of Nottinghamshire were entered into the competition, from the more well known brewers such as Blue Monkey and Magpie, to newer brewers such as Lincoln Green and Navigation.

I can confirm that (hot off the press!) the winner is:

**BLUE MONKEY - APE ALE (Stout, Porters & Strong Beers)**

And the runners up:

  • Grafton: Sillhouette (Stouts, Porters & Strong Beers)
  • Milestone: Rich Ruby (Bitters & Best Bitters)
  • Welbeck Abbey: Red Feather (Bitters & Best Bitters)
  • Springhead: Roaring Meg (Blondes)
  • Nottingham: EPA (Blondes)

A big congratulations to all winners and runners up! However as from 4pm this afternoon, the festival will become open to the public until the beer runs out. So why not head down to the Canalhouse today or over the weekend and sample some of the absolute finest beers this county has to offer!
